Best Upcoming Smartphones in India for October 2018

The line-up of smartphones to be released in October is a lot exciting to wait. Q3 and Q4 of every year are when the big players come up with their flagship smartphones. Samsung kickstarts the season with the Note series launch in August followed by the Apple iPhones in September. October is usually Google’s turn to come out with the Pixel. But this year we have a lot of surprises awaiting from October.

If you date back to 2015 you get no more than 5 individual smartphones launch events. In 2018, the smartphone industry has grown big and so is the competition. Every brand wants the press to speak about their products and boast how well they had produced a smartphone.  Hence every smartphone started to have a release event of its own rather than showing up on IFA or MWC. So, what’s up for October? Here is the list of smartphones reportedly coming out in October.

Google Pixel 3 & 3 XL

Google Pixel smartphones make their debut in October every year since 2016.  The Google has stuck to the same tradition this year too and has announced an event on October 9. The sad part though, there is not gonna be any surprise or excitement in the event. Ask why, because the internet is filled with tons of leaks all over. One guy even went forward and released a first impressions video two months ahead of launch date. Some guess it could be Google’s stunt to deceive people but it is less likely to just be a planned leak as most of the renowned leaksters adhere to the same set of information.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL is expected to get a better design than the previous gen smartphones. The screen is going to be OLED for both. The Pixel 3 will sport a 5.3-inch display curved at corners and the bigger sibling shows up with a 6.2-inch display with a large notch which most are not happy about. It is the increased depth of the notch rather than the width that has made the Pixel 3 XL ugly. The rear seems to have the signature dual tone Pixel design with frosted glass and a single camera for the third time with all confidence. The front seems to retain the stereo speaker and includes a dual camera with flash.

Next in line is the Samsung. If you are wondering they have already out the Galaxy S series and the Galaxy Note series smartphones for the year, you are not wrong. This event scheduled on October 11th has teased 4 camera smartphone. The poster says “4X fun – A Galaxy Event” which clearly indicates a galaxy smartphone with 4 cameras, after all, what else could a smartphone have in 4.

Sure there is gonna be new series of the Galaxy smartphone in the event but we are still not close to finding what it is rather than sporting 4 cameras. The cameras possible must be two at the rear and two to the front. It could even have a triple rear camera as we got vague rumours before the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 release. Samsung has been working on a foldable display smartphone for at least 5 years now and started with a gaming phone recently which was codenamed Galaxy X. Is Samsung ready with any of the innovations? Wait for the event to know for yourself.

OnePlus have been speeding up with their smartphones now they are pushing new ones with marginal improvements and one or two features added.

As for the leaks and speculations go, OnePlus 6T will have much smaller teardrop notch just to house the camera module and small earpiece as found on its parent company’s Oppo F9 Pro. In addition, the smartphone is teased to come with an indisplay fingerprint scanner. The processor is expected to be the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with 6Gb or 8Gb of RAM.

The LG V40 ThinQ is a flagship smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and up to 8 Gigs of RAM as we know from the rumours. The phone had an early rumour of a triple rear camera but that doesn’t seem to be true. Instead has a dual camera to the front and back. The obvious upgrade is going to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with 8 Gigs of RAM. The cameras are expected to improve as the first-generation Razer Phone had a subpar camera. The dual speakers and 120Hz display should remain the same while the increase in the battery capacity is more likely to be seen. The Razer Phone 2 is said to come with Razer’s own RGB software, Chroma which will give better colour out of the LCD panel.

It has stayed in the press for a while now with their Mate series and P series smartphones. Huawei P20 Pro with the triple rear camera was a great success which has brought up the hype for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. It sent out an invitation for the event to be held on October 16th.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro will be the first in class to have the new in-house flagship chipset Kirin 980 which is boasted to have a lot of new AI functions.
