Box Office: Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika crossed 100 crores

Kangana Ranaut’s movie ‘Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi‘ is going on for four weeks in theaters, and according to the producers, the film has now crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in Indian market.

Kangana’s sister, Rangoli calculated the amount of expenditure and earnings and informed that the film is running in profits.

‘Manikarnika’ movie is based on the life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi, the movie was released on January 25.

The reports of this movie sending the message that Kangana’s directorial debut film was not going good. After four weeks of release Kangana’s sister Rangoli informed the total earning of Manikarnika through her twitter account. According to the tweet, Manikarnika has been created from the budget of 79 crores, while its publicity expended for ₹ 22 crores. Its digital rights have been sold for ₹ 40 crores, while Satellite rights are sold for 20 million. The rights to distribute in theatre were sold in ₹ 61 crores.

Which means that the total cost of the movie Manikarnika was ₹ 101 crores, while ₹ 121 crores have earned from selling various rights. The box office collection of the movie is ₹ 100.05 crores means that the distributors will not be spoiled. The earnings of the movie crosssed 152 million worldwide.

After being released on 25th January ‘Manikarnika’ collected ₹ 8.75 crore on the opening day. On 26 January, the flim has collected ₹18.10 crores which is more than 100 percent of first day. Manikarnika became the highest-grossing woman centric movie on any single day in the country, while Kangana also broke the record for making the biggest film of her own movie ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ the second day. On Sunday 27 January, collection of the movie was bit low but collects ₹15.70 crore. The total collection of the movie was ₹ 42.55 crore on its first weekend and the total collection of the movie was ₹ 61.15 crore in first week.

In the second week, Manikarnika made a collection of just Rs 23.40 crore, after whic the total collection of the movie was ₹ 84.55 crores. The third week wasn’t that good for the movie but still it made ₹7.15 crore and the total collection of 17 days was ₹ 91.70 crore.

The story and script of movie is written by Vijendra Prasad. Who has given wonderful stories to bollywood like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Bahubali.

Manikarnika has been released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages across the country on 3000 screens, while Overseas has been released on 700 screens in over 50 countries.
